Description | The paper analyses the essays included in the single-theme number of journal Pedagogika 3-4/2010. The author identifies three cross-section themes running through selected texts: (a) the teaching profession and the demands placed on the teacher, (b) the quality of the teachers professional performance, (c) routes for the professional growth of teachers. In addition to critical analysis of the texts the author indicates possible ways in which arguments of the individual author could be integrated, and sees professionalisation as the main common and integrative theme and concept. At the end the author adds several comments aimed at the community of researchers working in the field of teacher education. |
