Description Newly designed magnetic nonporous poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) - P(HEMA-co-EDMA), poly(glycidyl methacrylate) - PGMA and P(HEMA-co-GMA) microspheres carrying carboxyl groups were used for isolation of genomic DNA. Microspheres were prepared by radical dispersion copolymerization of respective monomers in the presence of colloidal iron oxides. DNA isolated from bacterial cells of Bifidobacterium longum by magnetic microspheres was used for PCR testing.
