Description The aim of the work is to point out the current eating habits of selected elementary school students from the city of Brno in the Czech Republic, compare them with nutritional recommendations, and thus find an answer to the question of whether elementary school children eat healthy. The survey was conducted at selected Brno schools in the Czech Republic. The pupils included in the research were between the ages of 11 and 15, both boys and girls. The required information was obtained from the pupils using the questionnaire method, the questionnaires were anonymous. A total of 355 completely completed questionnaires were obtained from the pupils. By evaluating the responses from the questionnaires, it was found that the interviewed children most often consume 3 meals a day. More than a third of children said that they eat fresh fruit every day, but most children eat fresh vegetables only 1-3 times a week. Children try to follow the principles of healthy nutrition only occasionally, only 7% of the respondents still follow them. Most children (161 children) eat their last meal before bed 2 hours before bed. 13.5% of children responded positively to the question of the occurrence of food allergy.
