The symposium is a traditional expert event focused on elite sport, bringing together sports physicians, physiotherapists, coaches, scientists, and athletes to discuss current professional topics.

Part of the program was a detailed presentation of ongoing and planned projects within the high performance program (HPP), funded by the national sports agency and coordinated by the Czech Olympic Committee (COC). The Faculty of Sports Studies received support for two research projects for 2025:

“Assessment of muscle typology and its application in training (phase II)” (Dr. Jan Cacek)

“Evaluation of energy expenditure in Olympians – doubly dabelled water (DLW)” (Assoc. Prof. Michal Kumstát)
Both projects use gold-standard methods and have significant practical impact on elite sport.

In 2025, FSpS will also participate in the HPP project “Prevention and therapy of health complications” with a focus on RED-S syndrome, caused by insufficient energy intake. Assoc. Prof. Michal Kumstát presented the lecture “RED-S Syndrome: A comprehensive approach in the Czech Republic” and introduced the plan to develop a screening tool to help the COC identify athletes at risk.
