| Popis | This paper reports on a pilot study comparing stance expression in writing by Czech PhD students and expert writers in linguistics. The study combined corpus analysis of stance features in the introductions to theses and research articles with interviews with a PhD student and an academic. The findings have implications for the design of my doctoral research project, which focuses on the writing needs of Czech PhD students. |
