Popis | Teotl ixiptla is an impersonator of a god at Nahua (Aztec) rituals, who is generally sacrifices at the end of the ritual. An impersonator is chosen by very specific rules among war captives. He (or she) is gradually transformed into a god (or goddess). This process can last for even a year. In a presentation I have opened a question of this gradual transformation of the candidate into a "living god" and of an purposeness of this change. Through the scope of theories of social identities I have talked about a mechanism of transformation of his/her identity with consideration of current discoveries made by Molly Bassett. |
