A fundamental problem for many applications ranging from information retrieval, data analysis, visualization, and comprehension is the need to process large and often unstructured data. The main topic of the project is data processing for efficient retrieval, storage, analysis, and visualization using various machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques and designing original approaches. The design of this project builds on and further develops the results of previous specific research projects from 2010-2022. It is a project that contributes in a comprehensive way to the development of doctoral studies with a focus on synergies with other research and development projects (especially in relation to the use of research towards applications and the development of the CERIT center and possible collaboration with industrial partners of the department's laboratories), as well as to the development of research and development activities of master's students and to support the provision of student participation in international scientific conferences. The project covers research activities led by the staff of the FI Department of Machine Learning and Data Processing and part of the Department of Visual Informatics.
