The aim of this project is to test a possibility to distinguish among pathogens causing urinary tract infections and bloodstream infections after cultivation on agar plates by Raman spectroscopy. The project will also include examination of a possibility to identify microbes directly from a sample. This will accelerate identification of a pathogen, help with treatment decision, lower the costs for diagnostics and a treatment itself, and above all, save lives of many patients.
Sustainable Development Goals
Masaryk University is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to improve the conditions and quality of life on our planet by 2030.
