Based on the existing pilot data, the project aims to (1) evaluate the potential of a probiotic
supplement for honey bees and its effect on the modulation of honey bee immunity and production
parameters, (2) optimise its composition by addition of novel bacterial isolates, (3) develop a technology for its commercial production using fermentation in food-products-based media, (4)
introduce the probiotic product on the market and (5) utilise the by-product of the fermentation as a soft drink with a high added value.
