Předmětem činnosti Centra bude společný teoretický výzkum v oboru počítačové lingvistiky, a to zejména v oblasti kombinace zpracování psaného a mluveného jazyka, která bude podle našeho názoru této oblasti již v brzké době dominovat díky pokroku v obou těchto dosud oddělených oblastech.
