Description | The paper deals with qualitative - and mainly ethnographic - research of new media and, specifically, social networking site. It specifies position of this methodological approach within new media studies and concludes that qualitative methods and media ethnography should play a distinctive role in an inductive research of new media in time of social and technical change. Finally, the paper sums up some preliminary findings emerging from several qualitative researches of social networking site conducted at Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University. |
