Citation
Description A sample of atypical graphite pottery gained at the survey of chert mining shafts in Krumlovský les was examined by minaralogical and petrographic methods. The atypical sherd from the Trench VI-9-2 (Shaft 19, depth 210 cm) was compared to typical graphite pottery samples of the Horákov culture period, which were found in a nearby recessed settlement object. Micropetrographic analyses showed the correspondence of the examined sherds. All the three pottery sherds contain identical temper, rock fragments – mica and sillimanite gneiss, graphite-biotite-muscovite schists and graphite schists. Based on the corresponding characteristics, the examined sherd may be dated to the Horákov culture period.
