Description | The collection comprises contributions presented as part of the seminar “Manufacturing and Technological Aspects of Mediaeval and Early Modern-Age Tiles”. The seminar was held within the exhibition “Beauty That Warms. Gothic and Renaissance Tiles in Moravia and Silesia”, organised by the Institute of Archaeology and Museology of Masaryk University and the Slovácko Museum in Uherské Hradiště, at the beginning of 2009. As well as archaeologists, academic sculptors specialising in ceramic and tile production took part in the seminar. Their valuable practical experience in the identification of mediaeval manufacturing procedures and in the construction of stoves and their operation has enriched both the theoretical part of the discipline and this collection. |
