Description In agreement with the vision of life in harmony with nature the school curriculum brings up new areas associated with the biophile focus in education. The author deals with learning about the environment in basic school from the point of view of the components of school teaching – educational content, teaching strategies and pupils preconcepts. She analyses the key topics on the environment and culture from the school curriculum in the cognitive, cognitive-emotional and cognitive-motor dimensions. She used the results from the research project "School and health for 21st century". She justifies them by the need of the transformation of the educational content, where it is the teacher who is responsible for its interpretation to pupils.
