Description | In this study, we identified strong positive correlations of adipsin plasma concentration with parameters of body fat distribution in extremely obese Central-European population, such as percentage of body fat and waist circumference, both considered important negative risk factors for obesity-associated comorbidities. More research is required to provide a better insight into the role of adipsin in obesity development to elucidate the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms of observed correlations. |
