Description | During investigation of the parasite fauna of fresh-water fishes carried out in the Mare Simenti, Gambia River, Sebegal, numerous nematode specimens were collected from the rectum of squeakers (Mochokidae: Siluriformes) and citharinid fish (Citharinidae: Cypriniformes). Morphological examination and determination of nematodes showed that the material comprised three species belonging to two African fish nematode genera Cithariniella Khalil, 1964 and Labeonema Puylaert, 1970.The parasite for SEM were prepared by the standard method and examined for external morphology of various determination features by a VEGA scanning electron microscope. |
