Description | Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) exploits laser ablation for spectrochemical analysis. During interaction of focused laser beam with a sample the microplasma is produced. The emission from the plasma is collected and monochromator disperses the radiation emitted by excited atoms and ions in the plasma. This radiation has analytical information and can be used for qualitative and quantitative purpose. |
