Description Cytokinins (CK) are important regulators of plant growth and development. Plants perceive CK signal by transmembrane receptor histidine kinases (HKs). Upon CK binding, these sensors autophosphorylate, thus triggering the His-Asp phosphorelay in the cell. So far completed genome projects have allowed detailed functional studies of the CK signalling components not only in the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana, but also in crops. We have identified putative sensor B.napus HK genes (BnHKs). Completed sequencing results, gene structure analysis and alignment with homologous sequences from related species have been presented of one the identified BnHK genes.
