Description We reconstructed karyotypes of three crucifer species with low chromosome numbers (n=4, 5, and 6), endemic to Australia. The comparative chromosome painting (CCP) technique using chromosome-specific Arabidopsis thaliana BAC contigs has been used to discern homeologous chromosome regions shared between the analyzed species and the putative Ancestral Crucifer Karyotype.
