Description Presented paper illustrates issues of geodata content definition, formalization, and visualization within emergency management. Due to the overall complexity the proposed solution is described with a limited parameters using specific scenario dealing with the traffic accident and transportation of dangerous chemical substances. First of all the scenario domain description is given. It includes the rescue units intervention at an accident with dangerous substances, commander intervention related activities and their cooperation on tactical level. Based on the analysis of the action (e.g. intervention organizing) and types of situation (e.g. accident of vehicle with dangerous substances) in emergency management it is possible to define context-aware scenario in which geographic information supports decision making. After analyzing user needs on data, relevant data sets are chosen. Action and situation are the most important aspects determining role of geodata and thus its visualization. Our case study tends to information transfer in the form of dynamically changing interactive maps to achieve effective connection between all levels of emergency management. Presented paper deals with remote spatial data management in crisis situations through Web interface represented by the Web Feature Service Transactional (WFST) client application. WFST is a service and specification of Open Geospatial Consortium that enables client application to alter the state of feature through insert, update, and delete operations. This way allows users to access mapping server(s) and database(s) through standard Geography Markup Language (GML).
