Description | A Reply to the Comment by Kyoo Kim, Hong Chul Choi, and B.I. Min (PRL 102 (2009) 079701). The comment confirms our result that within the LDA (which describes the energetics of Po better than GGA), both calculations with and without the SO interaction give the simple cubic (sc) structure of alpha-Po as the most stable. Hence, the SO interaction cannot be regarded as providing the stabilization of the sc structure in alpha-Po. On the other hand, the mass-velocity and Darwin terms do stabilize the sc structure in alpha-Po and the comment of Kim, Hong and Min does not disprove this conclusion. |
