Description A novel approach to brain mophometry - source-based morphometry (SBM) - was used to assess regional gray matter volume in first-episode schizophrenia subjects. SBM, but not conventional voxel-based morphometry, was able to detect gray matter volume reduction in medial, lateral parts of prefrontal cortex, in superior temporal gyrus, and in cerebellum.
