Description | Summary Baroreflex belongs among mechanisms, which take substantially part in blood pressure homeostasis. Decreased heart-rate baroreflex sensitivity (BRS in ms/mmHg, BRSf in mHz/mmHg, resp.) is one of the factors involved in development of hypertension. Resting value of BRS under 3 ms/mmHg is a risk factor for sudden cardiac death after myocardial infarction. Therefore a question rises of genetic determination of BRS and heart rate and blood pressure variability beat-by-beat. The individual reproducibility of resting values of these parameters was proved experimentally. The studies also show that BRS, heart rate and blood pressure variability could be genetically determined. For example studies of genes coding AT1 receptor, aldosteron synthasis, calcium activated potassium channel and endothelial nitric oxide synthasis brought positive information on genetic determination of BRS. |
