Description | Different types of molten fluoride salts (LiF-NaF, ZrF4 and LiF-NaF-KF) are examined as a cooling media for a nuclear reactor cooling circuit. Compositional changes can occur on inner surface of structural materials of heat exchangers at interaction with molten fluoride salts. Corrosion of the inner surface was studied in relation to structural material types, molten fluoride salt composition (LiF-NaF, ZrF4 and LiF-NaF-KF), duration of molten fluoride salts treatment (from 80 to 1000 h) and different melt temperature. For this purpose laser ablation with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) was used. |
