| Description | Determination of protein p16 provides good results to test cervical dysplasias. Protein p16 is functionally connected to the cell cycle regulation through protein Rb which inactivate pRb by phosphorylation with cooperation with E7. Detection of protein p16 is stadardized by imunohistochemistry and imunocytochemistry. Imortal cell line have been used for imunoblotting. We have demonstrated the existence of protein p16 in high grade lesions from the liquid based smears by immunoblotting and we have formulated these procedures metodically. |
