Description | The number of small and medium-sized innovative enterprises is one of the criteria of economic level of country. Innovative enterprises transfer new knowledge from research to practice. Starting a business is very difficult for small innovative firms, however these firms often have a huge profit potential and in the future they can create a lot of new jobs and brings other economic effects. For support of starting innovative firms the business incubators are founded. In the Czech Republic these incubators are not new, they have been founded since the early 90s and on present there are about 20 incubators. Due to support from structural funds number of them is continually increasing. At first the article deals with explanation of term business incubator, it describes its functions and possibilities how incubators should be evaluated. Then the article contains analysis of Czech business incubators from regional point of view (spatial analysis). Finally the article shows results of author's questionnaire survey among Czech business incubators. |
