Description This study has evaluated the benefits of 12 weeks of combined aerobic-resistance training in patients after PCI with DM type2 (DM) and in non-diabetics(NDM). Significant improvements in exercise capacity (Wpeak, Wpeak/kg, VO2peak, and VO2peak/kg) were found out both in DM and NDM. The decrease of resting heart rate (HRrest), resting systolic (SBPrest) and resting diastolic (DBPrest) blood pressures did not reach statistical significance in DM group. In NDM, only the significant decrease in SBPrest was observed .Body weight (BW) and BMI significantly decreased in NDM while in DM the decrease of BW and BMI was insignificant. Our results suggest similar benefit of cardiac rehabilitation both in DM and NDM patients.
