Description The aim of this article is to comment on and test of applicability of Paul Taggarts features approach to the realities of Serbian politics. The text will focus on those political parties founded at the beginning of the 1990s which have maintained their position in the party system up to the present (Serbian Radical Party, Socialist Party of Serbia, Democratic Party of Serbia, Democratic Party and Serbian Renewal Movement). The authors conclude that the concept of populism remains blurred and can only be applied with difficulty.
