Description This year marks the 60th anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO). When diplomats met in San Francisco in 1945, one of the things they discussed was setting up a global health organization. Origins of WHO were not easy or simple. The role of its founders was extremely difficult. From small beginnings WHO became one of the most important international organizations. WHO is fully aware of the role foreseen by its founders: to provide a mechanism through which all countries of the world could collaborate in the pursuit of better health.
