Description 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring have better predicted value to cardiovascular risc than office blood pressure (BP) measurement. Aim: to evaluate 24-hour efficacy of betaxolol hydrochloride once daily by smoothness index (SI) measurement. Method: 30 newly diagnosed hypertension patient before and after 3 month of treatment by betaxolol hydrochloride. Mean daily dose 15mg. Results: SI of betaxolol hydrochloride for systolic BP 1,03 +- 0,65 (95 % CI, 0,80 - 1,26), for diastolic BP 1,27 +- 0,89 (95 % CI, 0,95 - 1,59). Conclusion: Betaxolol hydrochloride have sufficient 24-hour efficacy in decrease of blood pressure.
