Description Democracy is supposed to be one of the important conditions to establish the principles for the long-run sustainable economic growth. We investigate how political liberalization influenced accumulation of labor and physical as well as human capital in Poland in years 1988 till 2005. Whether the collapse of the authoritarian regime brought about the growth of their productivity. We find that extensive growth was replaced by intensive one in Poland. Transition to democracy had positive impact on character nad performance of polish economy. Simultaneously we try to find out if the results of polish economy were affected by the behaviour of political subjects and vice versa. This relations were identified to be relatively robust. We use chronological sequencing of the events in our paper.
