Description In this paper, an application of wavelets to cardiology research is described and statistically analysed. The continuous wavelet transform is used to detect acute myocardial ischemia caused by occlusion of a coronary artery in animal experiment. This application may help to understand fundamentals of changes in heart electrophysiology underlying acute myocardial ischemia. Statistical analysis of wavelet transform results support hypothesed intra-QRS changes.
