Description Sport pedagogy from the point of view of elementary scientific paradigms can be divided above all into two areas – empirical and normative. The given classification is reflected apart from other aspects in a different view on the issue of coaching. In terms of increasing pressure on maximum sports performance what seems effective is social research of successful coaches and their activities, i.e. empirical (research) orientation of sport pedagogy. In terms of broader humanization aspects and primarily in connection with a reaction to intensifying negative phenomena in top sport the significance of normative sport pedagogy is rising, emphasising in coaching mainly responsibility of educators, striving for the “good life” and the development of prosocial behaviour.
