Description The article focuses on the issue of interpersonal attraction in cyberspace. The purpose of the qualitative research based on the grounded theory was to find out, what criteria influence internet users choice of partners for online communication. There were interviewed seven respondents – regular internet users - aged from 19 to 35. The analysis of the interviews has shown that the attraction is induced by the following qualities: similarity, interestingness, creativity, intelligence, advanced linguistic and communicative skills, sense of humour and what some of the respondents called virtual charisma. Passivity, aggression and immoderate exhibitionism on the other hand are generally considered unattractive. Similarity (sharing of interests, opinions and/or values) has turned out to be the most significant factor.
