Description Contrast media - induced nephropathy (CMIN) is an iatrogenic disorder, resulting from exposure to contrast media. With the growing number of diagnostic and interventional radiologic procedures in recent years, the prevalence of this order can be expected to increase. There are the number of patient-related risk factors which increase the probability of its occurance after radiologic procedures, as the presence of diabetes mellitus, preexisting renal impairment and hypertension. In addition the development of contrast nephropathy is much more increased in patients with risk medication and lower hydratation. Event though none of our patients met the criteria defined for CMIN, radiocontrast examination showed a significant statistical decline in GFR and rise of proteinuria medication expecially by the combination of ACEI and diuretics. The basic role for the impairment of renal functions in our patients played probably the estate of a reduced hydratation by the chronic diuretic therapy and simultaneously by the insufficient peroral fluids uptake in the time before the radiocontrast procedure. Its very important to realise the possibility of occurence of CMIN and to prevent it also by the modification of influenceable risk factors, for example by the elimination of risk medication.
