Description | The evidence that periodontitis does not afflict all people and does not progress in a continuous manner, changed our understanding of the nature of periodontal disease in the last two decades. The events associated with the development of periodontitis can be divided into bacterial infection, genetic susceptibility, metabolic responses, and anatomical changes, each of which should be considered when diagnosing periodontal conditions. |
