Description | Immunoreactivity for pCREB was localized surprisingly in the nucleoli of the DRG neurons of both naive and operated rats. In comparison to DRG neurons from naive rats, significant increased immunostaining for pCREB was found in the neurons of both ipsilateral and contralateral DRG following various types of nerve injuries. The present results demonstrated that increased phosphorylation of CREB induced by nerve injury may be involved in the development neuropathic pain. Similar bilateral exhibition of increased pCREB immunostaining suggested a retrograde neuroinflammation signalling of the neuropathic pain development. |
