Description | The surface of the experimental heat resistant steel 15CrMoV 2-5-3 was enriched with nitrogen and joined by electric discharge welding with P91 steel. The samples were heat-treated (625 C /160h, 900 C /26h) and analyzed. The phase diagrams of the investigated heat resistant low-alloy steel 15CrMoV 2-5-3 and heat-resistant steel P91 were calculated using CALPHAD approach with utilisation of thermodynamic database STEEL. Activities of carbon, nitrogen, and other elements were calculated by the same method. The CALPHAD approach complemented with appropriate diffusion model given in DICTRA code enabled us to simulate phase and element profile evolutions inside diffusion-affected zone of weld joint. The kinetic database DIF was used for diffusion couple description in this case. The experimental and simulated results were compared. |
