Description	The third workshop on "Biophysics of the Genome" was held in the Institute of Biophysics, Academy of Sciences, Brno, on 12-13th October, 2004. The main organisers were the Laboratory of Molecular Cytology and Cytometry, Institute of Biophysics, Academy of Sciences (LMCC) and the Laboratory of Optical Microscopy, Faculty of Infomratics, Masaryk University in Brno (LOM). The scientific program involved chromatin modifications, genome structure at the level of chromosome territories and condensation of chromatin measured by means of spectral microscopy.
