Description | The aim of the study was to detemine the interrelationship among the baroreflex sensitivity, the variability in systolic blood pressure and pulse intervals in adolescent with essential and secondary hypertension. The high systolic blood pressure variability ind subjects with essential and secondary hypertension could be explained by a primarily increased sympathetic vasomotor acitivity and by and inadequate dampening effect of baroreflex. The same low number of subjects with secondary hypertension and controls in subgroup with low heart rate variability and high systolic blood pressure variability comparing with a high number of adolescent with essential hypertension can indicate significantly greater influence of a baroreflex inadequacy in the development of essential hypertension. |
