Description For DNA isolation silica or cobalt ferrite (unmodified or covered with different reagents) particles were used. The size of particles ranged from 100 to 300 nm. Genomic DNAs from Lactococcus and Lactobacillus cells were isolated under high poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and sodium chloride concentrations. The quality of isolated DNA was tested with PCR amplification.
