Description Based on homogeneous precipitation series of 94 meteorological stations of the Czech Republic, extremely wet and extremely dry months, according to critical thresholds (10% and 90% percentiles) of the gamma distribution in the reference period 19611990, were selected. Changes in their temporal and spatial variability were analysed for 19612000. From the average series of the 94 Czech stations, 45 extremely wet and 54 extremely dry months were selected. Long term fluctuations of extremely wet and dry months were studied for secular precipitation series of Prague-Klementinum (18052000), Bohemia (18762000) and Moravia (18811988).
