Description | The aim of the study was to determine differences in baroreflex regulation of circulation between hypertensive and healthy adolescents. We found an increased systolic blood pressure in adolescents associated with overweight. Baroreflex sensitivity (BRS) is decreased in hypertensive adolescents. In group with low BRS, dampening effect of BRS on systolic blood pressure variability is insufficient in both, hypertensives and controls. In the group with medium level of BRS, hypertensives had significantly higher systolic blood pressure variability. It could be a sign of a primarily increased sympathetic vasomotoric activity. |
