Description | Results are presented of high dose rate intraluminal brachytherapy in 67 patients with inoperable endobronchial tumor treated either by endobronchial brachytherapy alone or by combination of teletherapy and brachytherapy with curative or palliative intent. Symptomatic improvement and bronchoscopic response were achieved in most patients. Brachytherapy is seen as an effective palliative treatment of malignant airway stenosis, albeit without apparent effect on survival. |
