Description Bivalve molluscs are of a good use for biological indication: because due to their bond with the substrate, they do very sensitively react on changes in flow and oxygen regimes, on harmful substance cumulation in sediments as well as on stream regulation (elimination of suitable habitats). Among sensitive and rare pill clams in the Czech Republic there belong the species Pisidium tenuilineatum, P. pseudosphaerium, P. amnicum, P. moitessierianum and P. hibernicum.
