Description Baroreflex sensitivy (BRS), pulse intervals (PI) and systolic blood pressure (SBP)were studied in 15 children (11-15 years year of age) with diagnosis of bronchial asthma at the beginning (group A1) and after 6 weeks of balneal therapy (group A2) and in 45 healthy controls (C), age and sex matched. In C, age-dependent development of SBP and PI was not accompanied by any significant change of BRS, but BRS significantly correlated with mean PI. Correlation between BRS and mean PI was not present in A1, but it was normalised in A2.
