Description | Proven Technology (PT) represents a contemporary approach to the cultivation of Sorghum bicolor [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] forage in a two-cut system (encompassing the introduction of harvested biomass/matter/on the row/two-phase harvesting). The focus is on the advancement of cultivation technology and harvesting methods. Furthermore, the technology has the potential to enhance forage yield and conservation through ensiling, which can then be utilized as a nutritional source for ruminants. The feasibility of substituting silage derived from permanent grassland (PG) with that from C4 plants for livestock feed (specifically dairy cows) has been validated in the context of ongoing global climate change, including the challenges posed by erratic rainfall and prolonged drought. The technology was validated at AGROSPOL Knínice, a.d. in the Boskovice furrow (Mala Haná) region. It is designed for agricultural enterprises with established crop and livestock production, as well as for users in agricultural research (including universities) and state institutions. |
