Description One of the consequences of hypertension is myocardial remodeling, which initially helps maintain cardiac pumping function and ensures adequate oxygen delivery to tissues despite elevated blood pressure. However, remodeling can progress, leading to myocardial fibrosis, characterized by fibroblast activation and altered electrophysiological properties of cardiac tissue. Animal models play a crucial role in myocardial fibrosis research. Although it is well-established that cardiac remodeling (fibrosis) manifests in ECG changes, this phenomenon has not been thoroughly studied in animal models. This study aims to characterize ECG changes and explore their relationship with induced cardiac remodeling in the DOCA/salt rat model.
