Citation
Description The purpose of writing the chapter was to generalize the results of previously conducted studies on the chemical toxicity of organochlorine compounds, especially hexachlorobenzene, its distribution in the environment and impact on living organisms, as well as ways of soils bioremediation from organochlorine pollution. The chapter presents the results of our research and scientists from other world countries regarding the impact of organochlorine compounds on vertebrates and humans, as well as the impact of hexachlorobenzene on soil microbiota, which characterizes the biological activity of soils. The achievement of this chapter is a comprehensive vision of the impact of organochlorine compounds on living organisms at all levels of organization. In conclusion, we emphasize the necessity for a scientific contribution to knowledge about biological methods of soil remediation from organochlorine pollutants.
