| Description | The elderly, ethnic minorities, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with disabilities, people with mental and cognitive disorders, polymorbid patients - these are examples of groups that are limited in clinical trials. Logically, the findings of such studies are difficult to generalize and cannot confidently support the use of the therapy being evaluated in people who were not represented in the study. Secondarily, the confidence of these patients in research in general may be compromised. The issue of inclusivity in clinical trials is not new. Already in 2017, the INCLUDE initiative was established to identify and define underserved groups and the barriers to their inclusion in clinical trials. On the way to addressing this problem and conducting more effective clinical research, the issue of educating the widest possible population of medical students as potential future investigators, clinical research methodologists or those involved in planning a clinical trial or those using its results in practice is on the table. The SENSITISE project, entitled Inclusive clinical trials: training and education to increase involvement of underserved groups, aims to fill this gap. Specific examples of trials where lack of inclusivity is a significant limitation will be presented, as well as the project itself and its planned publicly available educational outputs.
